Like most not-for-profits, I have limited resources... both dollars and people. Social media allows me to broaden my audience, engage my constituents and source additional funding with little or no cost.  

I often hear people say it takes too much time to be on social media.  Here's a solution: Develop a social media plan. Share messages about your organization, upcoming activities or events, images or questions that start conversations. Plan out the frequency and number of posts. Facebook and Twitter have a feature in their platform, or use an aggregator like Hootsuite or Buffer to help you plan. Monitor your page for results and respond to your audience for higher engagement.

Social media is here to stay and essential for not-for-profit.
