"JFK High School in Bellmore, New York provides an ideal learning environment for its students. Located one mile south of Merrick Road on Long Island, JFK is known for its outstanding academic programs and extra-curricular activities. JFK has a history of pioneering new concepts in education.
JFK High School was recently ranked 69th in the top 100 high schools in the country in terms of students taking AP courses. The median overall average among students is approximately 87. Students participate and have done well in various academic competitions. The Kennedy Cougars are one of the top teams in sports that range from track to wrestling.
JFK is one of three high schools in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District. Students zoned for this school live in southern parts of Bellmore and Merrick. As a district, Bellmore-Merrick ranks third in New York State in terms of graduates earning Regents diplomas. Among other things, the district is well known for its refusal to ban controversial books."
