David Stewart Wiley, Music Director and Conductor for the Long Island Philharmonic

For the past 34 years the Long Island Philharmonic has performed for, instructed and mentored hundreds of thousands of school children in cooperation with the school district music educators, Parent Teachers Associations and BOCES.

For your child, music not only fosters creativity, it improves memory and concentration, builds confidence and teaches patients.  One new innovative program sends individual professional musicians from our orchestra to school meetings of parents and elementary school children to demonstrate various instruments and answer questions on how to help children select a musical instrument to study. This early decision can often influence a child's lifelong interest in music.

So get inspired and keep the arts alive in your child's life.
