NEVER FORGET. That's what American's promised after the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. And in keeping with that promise, the Long Island Air Force Association honors Pearl Harbor Survivors by dropping roses by the Statue of Liberty. One for each year since December 7, 1941 and a white one for Sept. 11, 2001.

The Allied Foundation hosted its 5th Annual fundraiser gala. This year the organization celebrated past achievements and future endeavors.

 

Francie Goldberg of HANC Plainview announced that HANC Plainview's school and students will become a drop-off point for The Allied Foundation's diaper bank, the first of its kind on Long Island.

Philippe Rameau was honored with the Andrew Fierstein Memorial Award, a scholarship that will help him continue his studies at the Hofstra Zucker Medical School.

Etan Walls announced the launch of a new division at Allied Physians Group, Adjuvant.Health.

And the group of independent physicians were given business advice by keynote speaker Dr. Gautam Gulati

Farming goes high tech at Bethel Hobbs Community Farm in Centerach NY. Entrepreneurs Mike Jaya and Chris Logan demonstrate the spraying capability of their octocopter, which can hold a three gallon payload.

 

The drone sprays the five acre farm in under an hour, a job that would take the volunteers a Bethel Hobbs Farm days to do.

 

Mike and Chris believe that this will be a game-changer in how small farmers grow their produce.

The Village of Hempstead celebrated its 375th Anniversary in grand fashion. On a beautiful sunny day, community leaders and government officials from all parties were in attendance to honor James Garner, Village of Hempstead's fist African American mayor.

 

From former Governor David Patterson to recording artist Robin S to The Former Mayor of Denver showed their appreciation for the charismatic James Garner.

 

The days event featured the naming of a street JAMES  GARNER WAY and the opening of an exhibition that chronicles Hempstead's history back to the first settlers.
