The Heckscher Museum of Art is selected as the place for the national debut of Mort Künstler’s Civil War painting, “Respect of An Army”.

Mort Künstler, "America's Artist," chose the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington to unveil his painting commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the End of the U.S. Civil War.
Mort is a Long Island resident and although he was invited to Virginia to unveil his artwork, he chose to start the the painting's tour on Long Island.
Congressman Steve Israel participated in the ceremony.
