Lucie Arnaz, daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz is now grown-up and Live at the Landmark Theater on Main Street in Port Washington, NY, singing and dancing in the show she has titled Latin Roots. On Fathers Day weekend she discusses the influence her father had on her and the impact he has, even in death, on her career and the legacy she has grown up with.
He was not trying to revolutionize the television industry, she says, regarding Arnazs innovation in Desilu studios and his contribution to the entertainment industry.
Lucie Arnaz has been singing and performing in night clubs and on the stage for about twenty-three years. More recently, she has been more inspired by her fathers music, both that he performed, and the music particular to his homeland in Cuba. Now her show, Latin Roots focuses on latino song and dance, drawing from Arnazs own culture. It is where I get my love of the music, she says.

In 1948, Lester and Lillian Kronfeld established Lester's Clothing Department Store on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. 60 years later, Lester's remains a family-owned and operated company serving neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Greenvale, Huntington, and New Jersey.

The friendly and familiar environment, described as the "neighborhood department store," by owner Perry Schorr, has kept its customers coming back to the place that offers them the greatest deals on the latest European and American trends.

Starting this summer, customers will be able to stay connected with Lester's from home as the company installs online shopping into their website.

The secret to Lester's success? "Knowing our customer's names," said Schorr, "people never leave."
